What the columns mean

Shows is every performance the sources know of, not only concerts. Cities and Countries count the places those performances happened; pins sit on cities, so a city with twenty nights in it is one pin. Tours is how many named tours the archive covers. Span is the first and last performance on record, which is not always the first and last the artist gave.

Not every performance belongs to a tour. Festival dates, television, benefit nights and the early years before an artist had a tour to name are all filed under none, and how many depends on how the source keeps its records rather than on how complete the archive is. Taylor Swift has the most of them and hers is the best-documented archive here — she is the one artist with a categorised second source, so those performances are identifiable as something in the first place.
